Remind Sign up

Text Message Updates from HSLC

Your child’s school may use an text message system known as “Remind.” This allows the school to confidentially communicate with all parents and students. Holy Shepherd has signed up to Remind and will use this service to provide members with prayer requests and periodic updates for activities and inclement weather. To sign up, please text the message “@83e3b” to the number 81010. You will then be asked to reply with your name. That’s it! This will allow our community to better keep in touch with current needs.

We will keep the text messages limited to once or twice per week. All prayer requests will still appear in the weekly enewsletter and bulletin. Remind text message Prayer Requests will be those which are more urgent in nature. As always, please be specific about the wording of your request so that confidentiality will be respected, if desired.

Hannah's Hope

Many couples today are struggling with infertility. The Bible actually contains several such stories dealing with a couple's desire to have children. Hannah was the wife of Elkannah mentioned in 1 Samuel. She was childless, but desperately wanted to bear a child. She prayed to the Lord and eventually, she conceived. Her son was named Samuel and he went on to become one of the most notable prophets in Israel's history. Hannah's Hope will likely meet once a month to serve as a place of prayer and encouragement for couples who find themselves in circumstances similar to Hannah's. Our next meeting will be TBD. We'll meet in the youth room.
